Homemade Beignets
August 9th is National Day and it’s time to show our Singapore spirit!! Whip up a batch of yummy beignets without yeast for your national day party or whenever you‘re craving for some quick donuts.
It’s so simple, no need to wait for the dough to proof, these beignets are ready in less than 20 minutes. Quick and easy, and absolutely yums!!

Ingredients:
80ml water
2g salt
2g sugar
22ml OKI Evaporated Creamer
62g OKI Margarine Buttery Blend
80g Cake flour
2 large eggs

Cooking Instructions
1. In a small mixing bowl, mix the water with salt and sugar. Then pour the water mixture, OKI evaporated creamer and OKI margarine buttery blend into a frying pan. Heat to melt the margarine.
2. Bring to a boil, then pour in cake flour and mix well with a paddle until a dough is form.
3. Transfer the dough to a mixing bowl, then add in one egg and stir to mix well, then add in second egg. Mix well until a soft dough is formed. Put the dough into a piping bag.
4. Heat up OKI Canola Oil in a frying pan. Pipe dough onto greased paper, immediately deposit piped dough into hot oil by overturning piped dough into hot oil. Ensure dough is released immediately into oil to fry. Fry until golden brown on one side before flipping over to fry reverse side.
5. Once both sides are fried golden brown, drain on rack before final finish with icing sugar or chocolate sauce. Can be served with some vanilla ice cream or dip into hot chocolate sauce.
